I'm Pastor Harriett. I have a passion for encouraging people, of all ages, into a deep dive of exploring your faith and beliefs. As Pastor, I invite and support you to find your passion in ministry and mission. I proclaim a message of Plan B; the Gospel teaches there is always an opportunity for a do-over, another chance to begin again, to experience forgiveness and acceptance and to live fully embraced by the love of God shown in Jesus Christ.
All About Me
Rev. Harriett Akins-Banman began her journey as Centenary's first female pastor on November 1, 2015. A native of Bardstown, KY, she has served a variety of congregations in Texas, England, Ohio, Kansas, and Arkansas. She received her BA from Western Kentucky University and her Masters of Theology from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University. She is a certified Spiritual Director through Perkins School of Theology, member of Spiritual Directors International, and Labyrinth Facilitator through Veritas Worldwide Labyrinth Movement. She is married to Mike and they have one adult daughter, Madison. Mike and Harriett share life with Lucy, the wonder dog, loads of books, and a love for the outdoors.
