Yoga is not a religion. It is nonsectarian, but contains the ability to deepen anyone’s faith. Aspects of yoga have been incorporated into many groups and various organizations, including religions, for thousands of years. Some have used the practice of yoga as an act of worship.
Hatha Yoga with Lisa is celebrating its first year as of October! Beginning with one class that quickly grew to four, this free yoga class is open to all. The benefits of physical improvement with mobility and breathing plus the ability to quiet the mind for better concentration and deepened prayer are having a positive impact.

Along with several physical benefits, yoga can also have many mental benefits on a person. Yoga helps to activate the relaxation response in ones mind. By doing so, one can manage stress better, decrease depressed states and even become closer to one's faith. Yoga encourages uninterrupted worship within one's mind.
